Telling Mom

I finally told Mother – who obviously understands a lot more than I gave her credit for.
She cried. I cried. My husband cried.

So now she knows. And I feel like shit.

  1. Hey Peggy, my name is Judy Glenn. I found your blog today. I think it is neat that you are using your opposite hand to paint. My 18 year old daughter and I like to paint as well. I can't imagine painting with my opposite hand. Do you have pictures of your paintings before ALS? I did not look too far back on your blog. You may have them on older posts. Nonetheless, the passion to paint is still there, and I think you are making it work despite your circumstances!

My mom passed away from ALS in 2004, and I have found myself wanting to be a cheerleader for PALS. Ironically, I was a collegiate athlete while two of my sisters were cheerleaders! I wrote down my thoughts during my mom being sick and have just this summer put them on a blog as well.

Sorry about you having to tell your Mom. I also thought for six months that I was going to die from ALS because of similar symptoms. I kept the info away from family members for a while as well. Mine ended up being Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. I look forward to your next post. Judy
